Train Schedule. NJ Transit must rethink weekend banisters connection: opinion piece Hear.

It is almost hopeless to acquire a parking range in Hoboken on a weekend. Meanwhile the parking lot at the Tonnelle Avenue bus station of the Hudson Bergen Light Rail group goes almost thoroughly unused because NJ Transit insists on enforcing weekday parking restrictions on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. Hundreds of spaces are cool for pass holders who do not go on weekends while occassional users are relegated to the back of the lot at all times. If NJ Transit would straightforward all parking spaces in that lot to Dick on weekends and holidays, it would stock an additional to driving into Hoboken.

The same should employ to all of the parking lots on the HBLR. Why have hundreds of spaces off limits to passengers on weekends? I raised that suspect with some NJ Transit men and women after one of the hearings on the HBLR and was told that this could not be done "because it would be against NJ Transit's policy." Better yet, present redeem parking on weekends. Fill the parking lots and also afterward meet the trains.

The wear rhythm I was at Tonnelle Avenue railway station on a Saturday I counted only twelve cars parked in the routine paid parking spaces which are inconveniently located at the outer reaches of the parking lot. Is it significance the minimal net that is generated from these few cars if it discourages many more passengers for the HBLR if only they could and parking-lot for unfastened (and not several hundred feet away from the station)? If NJT made this lot available for weekend and time off travelers and publicized the fait accompli that it is outspoken on those days, it would have enough additional riders to vindicate uninterrupted escort Tonnelle Avenue-Hoboken trains on them.
