Anyone in the spirit for something extremely dizzy should stint to Comedy Centrals hour-long one of a kind premiere of Krod Mandoon and The Flaming Sword of Fire (9 p.m.), a broad, off and on ungainly but usually facetious spoof of mirage films. Sean Maguire of Meet the Spartans (an marked inspiration) stars as Krod, the buff but thin-skinned commandant of a unconstraint fighting company that includes a sexually unhindered pagan (India de Beaufort), an inexpert warlock (Kevin Hart), a half-pig marksman with very non-standard intend (Steve Speirs) and the wildly many-coloured lover of Krods recent mentor (Marques Ray).
Best of all, perhaps, is the malignant evil-doer they face - an incompetently deathly chancellor played with side-splitting relish by Little Britains Matt Lucas. As is most of the time the state with such spoofs, some jokes go too far and some dont go far enough - but enough debark to keep you amused through the hour. And at least its a revolution of stride from crime dramas, Aristotelianism entelechy shows and under-powered, slice-of-life sitcoms.
Krod wont transform your life, but it may appoint you laugh, and thats something.
