Vanuatu should butt the World Trade Organisation now rather than endanger being offered a less eager deal later, the country's customers priest says. The remark comes amid growing community interest in Vanuatu about WTO membership. Vanuatu must sentence to an accession box before gaining membership, and the prevailing offer needs to be ratified by November. Trade Minister Ham Lini says mainstream conditions are favourable.
Mr Lini acknowledges the increasingly vocal antagonist to WTO membership but says the regulation will drive ahead. He says Vanuatu's accession encase could be put to assembly as initially as September.
