On Jan. 13, Douglas County Commissioners, Steve Boand, Jack Hilbert and Jill Repella were officially sworn in by Judge Paul King. The three-member Board of County Commissioners mill to stand for the interests of the citizens of Douglas County at local, state, and patriotic levels. Commissioners are elected at overwhelmingly from one of three geographic districts for four-year staggered terms.
Hilbert was elected Douglas County Commissioner in November 2006 after serving in influence positions for 35 years in the known and reticent sector as well as corporate enterprise, most recently as the Global Capture Manager for Avaya, Inc. Now in the third year of his to begin term, in January he was appointed by his peers to be accurate as Chair of the Board of Douglas County Commissioners. Hilbert will also picture Douglas County as president of the Metro Area County Commissioners, President of the Colorado Counties Inc. Front Range District and one of two Colorado Commissioners representing Colorado on the National Association of County Governments (NACo) Board of Directors.
NACo represents 3,800 counties on a host of governmental issues. Boand was elected to his place as a County Commissioner, District II in November 2004 and re-elected in November 2008. He has been efficacious in Douglas County issues for more than 20 years.
His universal accommodation walk in the county dates back to 1986, when he was gold appointed to the Douglas County Water Advisory Board, on which he served until 1994. Boand also served on the Castle Rock Utilities Commission, the Board of the Plum Creek Wastewater Authority, Douglas County's Extension Advisory Board, the Board of Directors of Clean Air Transit Company (CATCO), and the Tri-County Board of Health. Repella was elected as a Douglas County Commissioner in November.
As a fifth-generation Colorado indigene and a neighbouring of Highlands Ranch since 1994, she comes from a protracted employment of self-satisfied Colorado citizens. In annexe to her responsibilities as a county commissioner, Repella will suppose responsibilities as an appointee to the following organizations, as a legate of Douglas County: Colorado Counties, Inc. General Government Steering Committee and Taxation and Finance Steering Committee; Denver Regional Council of Governments Board, alternate; Douglas County Housing Authority; Douglas County Youth Initiative; Douglas County Water Resource Authority; e-470 Public Highway Authority; Metro Mayors and Commissioners Youth Award; Southeast Business Partnership; Urban Drainage and Flood Control District.
