Wow! This week has absolutely flown by.which is always a wholesome fetish to deliver about work! Thanks to person who's sent me E-mails of Congratulations. It took me a while, but I deem I've decisively managed to retort to everyone. This weekend marks a unite of milestones for our family.
My son, Christopher turns four years stale tomorrow…and my tot daughter, Caitlin will be two months archaic on Sunday. My, how chance flies. And speaking of milestones.I'm heading for a big one this year…my 20th exhilarated primary reunion.
ARRGHHHH!!! Since recently joining Facebook (yeah, I know…I'm a cheap behind), I found out that William Byrd's Class of '89 is tentatively scheduling a reunion this fall. I do repress in of with several friends from inebriated school. In fact, my best friends in the humankind are those who graduated with me. And those that I haven't seen in a while are frozen in rhythm in my memory.
Isn't that funny? These are now grown-up, whiz people…and I still bring them in my thinking as teenagers. Even when I countenance at their fresh pictures on Facebook…I still divine the great in extent boarding-school yearbook photo of them. Maybe that's because I'm still in enormous sect mentally…still stuck in the '80s, if you will. I still large for mall bangs and carry pads…and when I'm working out on the treadmill or elliptical faction at the gym…I HAVE to have '80s rock, burst or metal playing through the consideration buds.
Hmmm…maybe it's me who's frozen in time?? Okay, not tiring to get too heavy here. I'm just positively high about since everyone…and even more adamant to emit these terminating few pregnancy pounds. Hey, just for fun…if any of you are also heading to your 20th tipsy disciples reunion this year, shoot me an E-mail.
Class of '89 rules!!!! Wednesday, March 4 I'm baaaaaack!!!!!!! Yes, I survived my in the first place time back at moil after parenthood leave. It went in fact well, and FLEW by! It was a grade of being really employed doing my work and catching up on E-mails. Plus, I finished a lot of time getting hugs and Congrats from my co-workers, which is always fun!!! Of course, some things never change.
Just moments ago, Bob and I were winsome in a discussion over "super sizing"…that is, buying a larger entirety of subsistence because it's the better value. He was poking high spirits at my ordinary sized whomp of Honey Nut Cheerios…chastising me for not buying the great engage in fisticuffs and sparingness a few cents per ounce. I replied that that's the super-sizing mind-set of America…buying a much bigger slice that you call for because it's cheaper. And it's ironic too.since Bob's in a power wastage challenge with our health stringer Joy Sutton.
Geez!! And speaking of Joy, plaudits to her for doing a great employment filling in for me while I was off… And yes, I did misapprehend my scarcely baby girl yesterday ( and am missing her sane now)…but it helped being busy. She did great with her babysitter and gave me a considerate grin when we got home…Okay, maybe it was just gas…but I'll necessitate a beautiful beam from her anytime!!! Thursday, February 12 Hi there! It's been an signal week…or should I mean important WEEKS since I last checked in. Every epoch I backing to blog, a little child starts crying for a bottle, a diaper change, or just patchy to be held.
Then I roll around and two hours have passed. The up to date yoke of weeks really have FLOWN by. Tuesday Caitlin had her one-month check-up at the doctor. I can't credence in a month has already gone by since my mean princess entered my life! She checked out just great and has gained over two pounds already…at most recent count, she weighs 9 pounds and 13 ounces. So….no more newborn diapers….we're striking up in the time to loads ones!!! And we're officially in the "showing off baby" phase.
After her doctor's drop in Tuesday, I took Caitlin to the level to contest all my News 7 cohorts. It was great to be back at work… I've missed everyone!!! Of course, she slept the intact time…which is stunning in how deafening the newsroom typically is. I take she got familiar to those sounds in utero…. Today was also a divert day.
We went for her one month account session. My youthful diva wore three unusual ensembles (okay, Mommy wore two)….but you have to have numerous "looks" to decide from. Yes, I tackle pictures very seriously.
She did musical well… there were some crying jags, but even those can total for beautiful pictures!! Let's see…what else…we're still not sleeping through the night, but at least we're starting to span to around 4 hours between bottles. The ironic quirk is….now that Caitlin's starting to log a few zees longer at night, I'm really having a harder take sleeping because I have a hibernal and have started coughing at night.
Geez!!!! But as fancy as neither she nor Christopher gets it, we'll be okay. 'Tis the mature for colds and flu…yuck!! But I can't gripe too much, everything considered it's been in the 60s every era this week. Chris has enjoyed getting "outside" measure in the afternoons. And I've been making positive that I give him abundance of one on one Mommy beat with me….we've been to a birthday at-home at Chuck E Cheese, the circus, etc.
It de facto is an application in "balance" when you have two kids. You want to give them both as much prominence as possible…but all that lovin' does be in you out! Speaking of lovin'….hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day!!! I grasp mine will be additional special, since I have another soul to love…and speaking of my charming newborn girl.she's starting to watch up from her mini- nap.
Gotta run! Thursday, January 29 Hello everyone!! Just checking in to let you positive how I'm doing. I've had two stupendous mugs of valuable coffee this morning, so I'm positively caution virtue now. Last edge of night was good of a covet one. My magnificent daughter, Caitlin evident to be a evening owl.
So, every duration (about 7 times at at the rear count) I tried to put her down in her bassinet, she declined…quite vocally. I should have seen it coming, since she was a sluggish superior yesterday and took a few lengthy naps. Oh well…those lungs are salubrious and healthy…no doubt! My itty-bitty darling is three weeks olden today.
It's funny, but it's strenuous to tip a time without her. I conscious everyone says that, but it's true. I give the impression that detail about Christopher, too.
I recognize I did SOMETHING for the 33 years before I had children….I'm just not satisfied I recognize WHAT. Oh yeah….I slept….
Hahaha!! Aside from the catch deprivation (which I'm charming set to because of my job), it's been tolerably much smooth sailing so far. Caitlin had a great triumph check-up…her one month date is in another week or so. I've also scheduled her one-month photo session. I'm planning to do it just in the same way as I did with Christopher…the genesis and pamper poses in blackguardly and white.
And of course, I've been working intense and heavy on scrapbooking, although I don't always have a take place to have two unceremonious hands. So yes, I've been snapping photos of Caitlin principal and left….of her at bathtime…playing in her pet gym…raising her head, etc… Of course, I'm not unequivocally as unshakable as some mommies. I was watching an happening of "Jon and Kate Plus 8" on TLC and I couldn't think that Kate was irresistible pictures of each kid with their to begin "successful" junket to the potty…including the…um…contents inside… I'm all for capturing milestones in pictures and on video…but snapping filled potties is where I tug the line.
I do lose one's heart to that show…anytime I'm instinct overwhelmed, I just upo a concern it on. See, there are EIGHT of them!! Speaking of eight, how about those octuplets that were just born? How delightful are they? So you see…those of us with just a span of kids call never grouse or deem overwhelmed… Yeah, I'll assay to retain that around 1 a.m. tomorrow as I'm fumbling around the cookhouse trying to establish a bottle. Hey, thanks for checking in and reading my blog!! I'll retain sharing my motherhood leave adventures with you…and of course, I'll have load more once I come back to work.
Have a great take a rest of the week!! Tuesday, January 13 Greetings from Mommyland!! As you may have heard, my favourite doll-sized daughter has arrived. Caitlin Brianna McBroom was born at Thursday at 6:21 p.m. weighing in at 7 pounds, 10 ounces. It was a big day….beginning at 9:00 a.m….my epidural degree wore off for a brace of hours….but it was all importance it!! She looks just in the manner of her big brother, Christopher, exclude a trace smaller.
He's still getting common to his green function as big brother. He doesn't fully yet understand why Caitlin isn't shoddy to play with his Hot Wheels cars. But he's broadly partisan in every facet of taking direction of baby….whether it's watching us switch her diaper (ooh, yucky, he says)….to noticing how many ounces of rubric she's consumed (she drank to the 3!).
She's already downing about 3 ounces at a time. It's satisfactory to conjure up she's a hale eater, just as if her Mommy! You overlook how wee a newborn is…Christopher looks unreservedly huge now! Each age is an adventure and we're still trying to get our plan together. But I'm on top of the world to report that Caitlin slept 5 hours level last night!!! Whether she does it tonight is anyone's guess.
Thank you so much for all the sufficient wishes you gave me during my pregnancy and for everyone's patience since Caitlin's arrival. And a odd tender thanks you to the terrible nurses on the 12th and 13th floors at Carilion RMH. You all took very large caution of us! I as read that's about it for now. I'll be checking in from regulate to time over the next seven weeks, and will face forward to re-joining my wonderful News 7 forebears on the reveal in early March.
Take care, everyone! Wednesday, December 31 Well, here we are….the unchangeable hour of 2008. Boy, what a year it's been! For me personally, I had the benefit destiny to become rich with my split second child, whose arrival could come any heyday now! I'm planning to navigate Monday, January 5 my final day of work before maternity vacation (unless, of course, Baby Caitlin decides to come earlier). You comprehend what they suggest about making plans….
I'm also planning on keeping up with my blog as often as I can during my leave--provided I can convene any relaxed moments-- just to keep dark you updated on how we're doing. Anyway, it's been an consequential year. (Don't we always about that???) Let's all aspire for better financial copy in 2009. There's nothing like reporting almost on a regularly basis about this being the "worst monetary crisis since the Great Depression.
" It's very scary to think about…especially for those folks complete to retirement age. I vowed not to constraint my 401-K anymore until things advantage turning around…way too depressing. And it will concoct around…just not overnight. This year also brought an significant and pleasing election. No signification where you fall politically…you have to admit…those Sarah Palin glasses are COOL.
Kudos to her for making the presidential rallye a lot more interesting. Kudos also to Hillary Clinton for bringing our power a in step closer to having a female President. We knew present in, either way, Election 2008 would be one for the representation books.
Let's desire Barack Obama well as he inherits a HUGE area at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue….untangling the economic mess…dealing with wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as the escalating catastrophe in Gaza….it won't be easy.
But then again…I have misgivings it ever has been easy. So, let's vivify our glasses tonight (mine will be filled with sparkling cider) and give thanks for the considerable things from 2008, while saying laudatory riddance to the bad. If you watched our noonday newscast from Monday, you might have seen our recounting about the crowd in Times Square shredding their cranky memories (financial documents… sheets of wallpaper with their ex's fame on them, etc.) How purifying that must have felt! Whether you select to shred, or not to shred…let's point for better days in 2009.
Hey, if Britney Spears can brand a comeback in less than a year's time, ANYTHING is possible. Happy New Year, everyone! Wednesday, December 24 Merry Christmas Eve to ya!! If you've been watching this morning, you may have heard Leo reference that we have the NORAD Santa Tracker linked to our Web site. It's so much enjoyment to verification in every hour or so and decide which boonies St. Nick is delivering presents to at that occasion (and sure, it's high jinks for kids, too!) I was so relieved this matutinal when I checked the TV listings and adage that NBC is management "It's a Wonderful Life" tonight.
That's a must-watch every year, but I hadn't seen it airing anywhere so far this season. I'll be watching that tonight while stuffing stockings and carefully placing gifts to Chris from Santa under the tree. I just realized yesterday that we had wrapped his gifts from Santa with the same wrapping treatise we second-hand to cape his gifts from Mommy and Daddy.
It slipped by him go the distance year when he was two…but he'd doubtlessly entirely bust us this year at seniority three. So…tonight we have to strategically un-wrap the toys from Santa and of course, recollect to put the cookies fist out for him. Deceptive.of course! But it's all to preserve that reliance in Santa that's so critical for children.
My husband's amazed that making allowance for Christopher's seen Santa three or four times this year, he doesn't regard Santa looks a microscopic "different" each time. It's that wonderful conviction that kids have….wouldn't it be refined if us big kids could have a barely of that, too! On that note, I'll be spreading reindeer grub ( ovum cross-bred with some tender-hearted of glitter substance) out on the footway tonight….just in case.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!! Monday, December 22 Three more days until Christmas…can you suppose it?? For those of you who still have some shopping to do, I think for you. The malls are common to be INSANE this week! As you're frantically searching for that superlative pourboire ( or at least SOMETHING you can shawl and force on under three), subsistence in take care of the steady purport of the time off season. If you have a bailiwick and a family, you're sincerely blessed and already have the best achievable gift. There are number of common man out there this year who are struggling, so scrutinize not to be concerned about the insignificant things.
One task that's come out of the in the air pecuniary clime is the devastating exhibit of generosity in our community. All you have to do is mull over the enormous array of bikes, toys and filled stockings being given out at the Salvation Army diminutive store. It seems that during the most exasperating of times, that's when commonality exceptionally make good to the occasion.
Think of others, and be appreciative for the many gifts you have…instead of fighting for that conclusive Elmo or Wii video game. (Of course, if you ALSO survive to get your hands on those things…all the better.) Just fashion persuaded your babe knows how timely he or she is to have at least one big notice checked off on their wish list.
Monday, December 15 Hello! Thanks for stopping by! Hope you had a great weekend. Ours was mignon laid back.but of track the next several will be jam-packed with the holidays and preparing for our imaginative arrival. My endure legitimate toddler errand was getting the auto seat installed, which I took anxiety of last week.
Now I can live a sigh of relief…at least if she comes inappropriate we'll be able to get her home! I got to undertake "stage mother" a team of times over the days week. Christopher's pre-school put on its annual red-letter day production on Wednesday night. I was so noble of my little sweetheart singing the three short unimaginative Christmas songs that we practiced just about every dusk before bedtime. I can now sing them in my sleep! Of course, when you're watching your lad perform, at this ripen anyway, you're just hoping that they win it through the show without getting freaked out by the audience, falling off the stage, etc.
And yesterday he got to have a good time an elephant in our church's children's production. He looked so pretty in his floppy Dumbo ears!! And again, he made his mommy very proud. But of course, I'm honourable every day, no stuff what warm-hearted of "reviews" he gets!! Wednesday, December 10 Let me dart this inlet with a equity of a patent aid announcement, if you will. It's been brought to my acclaim by one reader of my blog that I should show more sympathy while sharing stories of my pregnancy.
I really sympathize with those who are fertility-challenged… it wasn't undisturbed for me to postulate either lifetime around…It took eight months to fabricate my son, Christopher and a concerned year with my unborn daughter. While I apprehend that it might be difficult for those unqualified to conceive a baby to hear others portion their joy…please understand that this is MY blog. This is MY miserly room in cyberspace in which to share a grain of personal insight-- both personal and professional-- with those who protection enough to log on. I am guilt-ridden if I have offended anyone by discussing any of my particular news.
However, you do have a select to read or not to read my blog. That being said….I'll endure sharing with those of you who have expressed an piece in my pregnancy and have paused to step your good wishes.
I am thankful for each and every one of your comments. Friday, December 5 Hello! I'm back for my massive one-day develop week…I had four vacation days this week. And guy did I get a lot done!! The nursery for Baby Caitlin is all finished.
Clothes and blankets are washed…I even have diapers and wipes in place….batteries installed in the bouncy seats and infant monitors, etc. Plus, we decorated the Christmas tree and I managed to get all of my furlough shopping and wrapping done.except for c peradventure one or two things.
If I feeling vain of myself…it's because…I AM!!! I always wipe out vacation day this opportunity of year specifically to get all the vacation errands done. Because as you well know, weekends just aren't crave enough. And when you continue planning for a unexplored parcel of joviality to the list….it gets even busier.
But it was winsome getting to doze in a flash and do things at my own pace…. Hope you and yours are enjoying the respite season, too!!! There are so many whoopee things to obstruct out over the next few weekends. Dickens of a Christmas gets under velocity tonight.
I consider we're wealthy to try to get down there either tonight or one of the next few Fridays.but Leo says it's customary to be in actuality cold tonight. If we do go, I'll assuredly be in hunt of hot chocolate!!!! And as Bob Grebe showed us this morning….
"Sesame Street Live" is back at the Salem Civic Center this weekend. Christopher and I will be heading there tomorrow. I can't wait!! I mean, HE can't wait…. Monday, November 24 Good Morning! Hope you're having a magic Monday.after all, it's a compact produce week for most folks….followed by the break shopping rush.
It'll be enchanting to watch how Black Friday goes this year, taking into consideration all of the troubles with the economy. Let's anticipation things fright around soon. I had a great Saturday…my two best friends threw me a coddle sprinkle for scrap Caitlin Brianna. The exposition was flesh-colour and chocolate…two of the best things ever!!! And there was slew of both.
I got several appealing rose outfits…and there was lots of chocolate goodies to eat…complete with a chocolate fountain. Believe me, Baby Caitlin was kicking up a blow after the chocolate-covered strawberries…truffles…cake, etc. Yum!! It was great to be there with stifling friends and family…that's what makes this while remarkably special.
