Flooding. Heavy rains sweep Houston roads Know.

HOUSTON (AP) - Floodwaters reached the tops of utility poles in some parts of west Houston as oppressive rains dropped up to seven inches of descend overnight. Hundreds of motorists were contrived to hope asylum in happy parking lots as floodwaters rose on some expressway putting into play roads. The drizzle prostrate throughout the matutinal scurry hour from Houston to Bryan-College Station. The disrupted matinal commute prompted some Houston-area creed districts, including Cypress-Fairbanks and Spring Branch, to eradicate classes for the day.

It also prompted Houston high school quarter officials to shelve the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills from today until tomorrow. There were some high-water rescues of motorists this morning, but no injuries were reported.
