Statement by the President on the Passing of Bishop Arthur M. Brazier News.

Michelle and I were thoroughly saddened to acquire knowledge of the demise of our dear friend, a firm of the bishopric of Chicago, and one of our nation’s important moral lights, Bishop Arthur M. Brazier. Through his checking as a canon and his work on behalf of our communities, Bishop Brazier touched the lives of countless Americans. Bishop Brazier grew up during the Great Depression and never forgot how the hurt of insolvency can adapt a community and a nation.

A committed patriot, Bishop Brazier served as a help sergeant in the United States Army in India and Burma at the crest of World War II. He returned to Chicago where he promoted religious empowerment and financial happening through his pastorate of Apostolic Church of God and directorship of numerous community organizations and lenient efforts. There is no passage that we can change the thoughtful nitty-gritty and infinite settlement that Bishop Brazier brought to some of the most major challenges facing Chicago and our nation. However, his intent will live on through the parishioners, leaders and friends that he touched each day.

Michelle and I league with the Brazier family, the Apostolic Church of God, and all of Chicago in this significance of appeal and mourning, and in our commitment to assure that Bishop Brazier’s legacy lives on through our appointment to others.
