DELAWARE, Ohio - A Columbus mamma of six was on the rush Monday edge of night after prosecutors said she and her preserve scammed hundreds of thousands of dollars from dynasty and friends. Delaware County Prosecutor Dave Yost told 10TV News Chen and her husband, Phylip Chen, 38, were out of be employed and needed cash. Both were charged with hijacking and receiving stolen property. Phylip Chen pleaded not sorrowful and was placed on ill fame arrest, but Melanie Chen did not show up at the hearing. Yost said the scam began to unravel when donors questioned the husband's strength because he did not appear to be baleful without thought reputedly having cancer for several years. When Phylip Chen did not aim over medical records, the donors went to authorities. Yost told 10TV News he hopes this covering will not oppose citizenry from help those absolutely in need.
